About Texas Tree Post

A post marks where something begins

On a Texas farm road you will see them everywhere: cedar posts holding a fence line, a stake beside a young pecan, a marker where one property ends and the next begins. A post is a small, unglamorous thing that holds something larger in place while it takes root.

That is the idea behind Texas Tree Post. We are an online tree retailer, and our job is to make the first part of a tree's life here — choosing it, ordering it, getting it to your property — straightforward.

Why we built it this way

Buying a tree online is often a guessing game. The photograph is generous, the size is vague, and the delivery details show up after the order. We wanted the opposite: a real container size, a measured height range, a caliper where it matters, and a clear answer about whether we deliver to your ZIP code.

So the store is built around specifications rather than slogans. Each tree gets one page. Each page lists the sizes we carry and what to expect from them. If a size needs a delivery quote, we say so before checkout.

What we carry

We choose trees for Texas conditions: heat, drought, wind, and the long summers that test a young tree. The list leans on species with a track record in the state, including Texas natives. Every tree is container-grown, and every listing names the container size and the height range for that size, so a 30-gallon oak can be compared with a 30-gallon crape myrtle without translating nursery shorthand.

How the trees reach you

Our trees are grown by third-party nurseries. We select the species and sizes we offer and arrange delivery from the grower to your property. We do not own a nursery or a storefront. What we do is curate the list, publish the specifications, and stay accountable for the order from checkout to the curb.

Delivery is to your property in the Houston, Austin and San Antonio metro areas. Planting is not included at this time. The planting and care guide covers what to do once the tree is home.

What we will not do

  • We will not hide the size. Container volume, height range, caliper, and form are listed wherever we have them.
  • We will not promise what we cannot control. If a delivery window, a planting service, or a guarantee is not real, it does not go on the page.
  • We will not substitute silently. If the tree you ordered is not the tree we can send, we will tell you before it leaves the grower.
  • We will not rush the choice. A tree is a long commitment, and the right one is worth an extra question.

The long view

Texas is growing quickly, and shade is becoming harder to find. A tree planted this season will be working for your street long after the invoice is forgotten. We started Texas Tree Post to make that first step less uncertain — for people who want a real tree, in a real size, delivered to a real address.

If you have a question about a species, a size, or your delivery address, write to us. We will give you a straight answer.
